According to Dr. Rohnda Patrick, in this Joe Rogan interview, 70% of US Population insufficient levels – less than 30ng per mL.

Neither Dr. Patrick nor this website is saying that Vitamin D will save you or that it’s the treatment. It’s just available statistics that seem to correlate with a weaker immune system.

Some statistics discussed by Dr. Patrick, regarding COVID19 studies. These were off the top of her head as she was on the Podcast so please, research this yourself, take it with a grain of salt, and prove or disprove on your own. This is not truth!

  • Patients have died Phillipines, Indonesia, New Orleans
  • Phillipines – Every standard deviation increase in vit d – 8x less severe form of covid19 20x less likley critical form of covid 19.
  • Indonesia – About 98% of patients that died were Vit D deficient
  • 4% of those not deficient in VitD died of COVID 19
  • In Sweden Somalies have become extremely deficient and are being heavily affected by virus.

Some off the top of her head numbers and interesting topics discussed by Dr. Patrick:

  • Lockdown forcing people to not go outside making deficiency worse.
  • 28% is deficient in United States less than 20ng per mL
  • Obese people are highly likely to be deficient because Vit. D is fat soluble – 3XS more likely. Stored in skin and released into blood stream, it is converted into a hormone,
  • Melonin causes people to have less absorption which causes darker people to be more likely to be deficient in Vitamin D.
  • African Americans 28x more deficient in vitamin D then caucasian.
  • If you’re from a warm climate like Australia and put them in Sweden they will have higher risk to develop deficiency.

Benefits:

  • African Americans who were very deficient in Vitamin D, were given a Vitamin D Supplement for a month (about… give or take a couple months) increased their epigenetic age by 2 years.
  • Per research on my own, Vitamin D can reduce your risk of bone deterioration which leads to conditions such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and osteomalacia. Vitamin D is also important for teeth health.

Side Effects of Deficiency

  • Vitamin deficiency causes higher risk of resparitory infection
  • When you’re deficient, disrupts receptors in immune cells.

Preventive measure to take to prevent COVID 19

  • Vitamin D is foundation.
  • Best way to get is Sun Exposure.
  • Take a supplement. However, too much is not good. Maximum dose should be less than 4000IUs a day. One of side effects is hyperglycemia because may improve calcium absorption by 40%. Get blood test to see Doctor recommendations should he/she deem it necessary to supplement.
  • Vitamin K1 and K2 controls hyperglycemia. Vitamin K1 (dark leafy greens) preferable blood coagulation, but can move calcium to where it belongs. K2 isn’t as efficient.
