This includes cutting corners and adding more fillers and less actual ingredients. It’s hard to tell if a product is working because when you have the right nutrition program, you will lose body fat and weight no matter what.

Although fat burners don’t make a “significant” effect on your body on a day by day basis, over an 8-12 week period if you’re consistent the effects then become significant. However, this will only happen if you are creating a caloric deficit. What is a caloric deficit? This means that your caloric output is greater then your caloric intake. You burn more calories then you eat.

Let me clear it up for you even more. A fat burner in my opinion only help you burn an extra 50-100 calories a day. This means that you’ll burn a pound of fat which contains 3500 calories per pound every 70 to 35 days respectively. If you for some reason sabotage your diet or accidentally eat more then you burn, depending what your surplus is, you will only save an extra pound in 70 to 35 days. If you gained 10 pounds of fat during a period of time, with a fat burner you’d only gain 9 without considering water weight. If you’re nutrition is on point and you lose 10 pounds of fat during a period of time, then you’ll lose 11 pounds during that time (1lb every 70 to 35 days). Btw, I do not recommend you aim to lose 10 pounds of body fat in 35 days. Let me explain why.

Many people hire bodybuilding gurus who put them on extreme caloric deficits and again, you will lose body fat and weight no matter what. If you’ve read my contest prep article you know how anti extreme caloric deficit I am. To be blunt, you will lose 30 – 50 pounds in 12 weeks. You will get shredded. But 24 weeks later, you will gain those 30-50 pounds right back and possibly more over time. What good was the fat burner if that’s the case? What good was the journey?

First standard protocol to look for in a top fat burning supplement:

3rd party research – What studies did they use to create their formula?

Unless you are a doctor with a phD, you can’t devise your own supplements. Well, you could but then you are just getting generic recycled formulas because I doubt the average person can just come up with a formula. A credible company will hire a 3rd party research company, that will gather studies and research papers to create the most effective proven formula.

Second standard protocol to look for in a top fat burning supplement:

3rd party Quality Control – Does the company you purchase hire a completely separate ensure you get what you pay for?

Third party quality control companies such as the NSF ensure that the ingredients required to produce a product actually get added, in the formulated amounts, into the pill, capsule, powder. The biggest issue in the supplement world is companies cutting corners to make an extra buck. Someone may have the perfect formula and the production company can change the amount and type of ingredients that are provided.

In conclusion, get a product that is 3rd party researched and 3rd party quality controlled. What this implies is that a company is not about hype and anectdotal claims. They give you what is researched, clinically tested, and proven. If you Google “protein spiking” or “your favorite brand + lawsuit” you’ll see all the troubles with the industry. It’s a sham. What’s said is that sometime’s a company may have great intentions but their manufacturer may not. But knowing what we know today, if a company doesn’t invest in 3rd party quality control, that is their short coming.

Top 2 reasons why you aren’t seeing weight loss results with your fat burner:

  1. You’re eating too much: Let me start by explaining to you more or less how many calories you burn per day. There is a term called Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). BMR measures how many calories you burn per day doing normal every day things. It does not include exercise calories. Athlete’s tend to have higher BMR’s at the same weight because they are leaner which means they have more muscle. Muscle per pound burns a significant amount of calories extra then fat. Google “what is my bmr calculator” and get an estimate. Let me make this simple. When you use the calculator, type in that weight that you want to be (your ideal weight). This will be your ideal weight BMR. You can use the ideal body weight formula chart that I created. This is how many calories you need to eat at a minimum. If you are heavier than this you will lose weight if you eat at your ideal body weight’s BMR in terms of calories. If you exercise, even if you are at your ideal weight, you will lose body fat.
  2. You are washing away your hard work with cheat and rest days. If you use the guidelines I set in step 1, you are going to lose weight without exercising. However, if you exercise you’ll get there faster and you’ll feel much better. That’s not the problem I’m talking about here. If you are good during the 3-5’s per week that you exercise and strictly adhere to you nutrition plan, you can easily sabotage that work on your rests days with cheat meals and justification’s as to why you should eat more on these days. You will wash away what you did during the days you were great. Don’t think about a game plan on a daily basis. Think about it on a weekly and monthly basis.

Conclusion when it comes to fat burn and weight loss pills:

These are the four specifically fat burning supplements I’d recommend for you. As I explained, they are 3rd party researched and quality controlled. Workout Extreme is NSF certified and trusted by professional athletes to avoid tainted supplement issues.

Understand that the healthier your body, the more efficient your body performs. The better your body performs the more calories you burn because the more energy you’ll have. Per my professional experience they absolutely work. The answer is that yes they do work. Fat burners temporarily boost your metabolism, increase your focus and mental awareness reducing the chance of an injury, and reduce appetite. However, without the proper nutrition you may not experience the results you are looking for. For example, if your goal is to lose weight but your daily calorie output is smaller than your calorie consumption (you eat more calories then you burn) no fat burner in the world will help you lose weight. You’ll simply gain weight slower if that makes any sense.

Will a fat burner help you lose weight?

Yes and no. If your nutrition and fitness plan is not designed to help you lose weight no fat burner in the world will help you. You need to eat less calories then you burn. If you do that you will lose with or without a fat burner. However, if you eat more then you burn, you will gain weight. With a fat burner you’ll just gain weight slower. A fat burner will save you about one pound every 8 weeks. Additionally, if your body’s ability is compromised due to a fatty liver, you will not be able to train at the intensity required to burn significant calories during your workout. My recommendation is to ensure you clean and detoxify your liver first. Make sure you have the proper nutrition and fitness program in place. Do these things and you will see the fat melt off and the scale weight come crashing down.

What is the best fat burning pill?

When shopping for the best fat burning pill, consider two things. Are they all hype and branding or are they legitimate. In order for me to consider a product legitimate it must have two things going on. First it should be thirst party researched. I want to see studies that include trials from a company not related to the brand. This will indicate to me that the formula is backed by science. Number two, I want to see third party quality control. There are a lot of products out there that have great recipes for a fat burning product but their manufacturer’s cut corners to save money lowering the quality of the product. If I’m supposed to have 250mg of caffeine and 100mg of L’Theanine, then give me that.
