Unflavored Protein Powders – What are my recommendations?

Posted by

Here’s a biggie, I haven’t used or currently use any unflavored protein powders.

I’ve found through trial and error that my flavored protein shakes are pretty good, even though I use low carb low fat shakes as much as possible.

There are however, many people who want a flavorless protein shake.

With that said, I reviewed a few of the protein shakes found at bodybuilding-com and I went through their description and selected three which I think are superior to the others.

By superior I mean cost, rating, and all of these contain l’glutamine so that way you don’t have to go out of your way and buy l’glutamine on your own.

So this is my opinion, I’ve never tasted them, and like all supplements, I suggest you try them all, one by one, until you find the one you like the best.

So let’s start with my choice and recommendation of unflavored protein powders in order of ratings:

#1 Nature’s Best Isopure Whey Protein Isolate – 9.4 Rating:

unflavored whey isolate protein - isopure

With a great rating by the bodybuilding-com community, Nature’s Best Isopure will be my first choice if I had to select an unflavored protein powder. They are flavorless so by rating, price, and branding, this would be my go to.

#2 Organic Hemp Protein by Nutiva:

Organic Hemp Protein - Nutiva

Hemp from a lot of the things I have read in the news and other sources, is becoming quite popular in many industries. It is not your recreational weed protein that will get you high during your workout, but the hemp plant is used for many purposes. So if you’re curious to try hemp protein, this would be the way to go.

I believe the hemp protein is a complete protein but I would stack it with bcaa’s and L’glutamine. No I did not find that this shake includes L’Glutamine.

I believe this is a legitimate vegetarian protein powder.

#3 PlantFusion Vegeterian Unflavored Protein Powder by Nutrafusion Nutritionals:

If you’re a strict vegetarian, this would probably be your go to unflavored protein powder. It has a pretty decent rating, it’s not overly expensive, and does contain L’Glutamine in addition to a complete amino acid profile. It seems like a pretty legit shake.

So these are my recommendations. Again, I have never used any of these, but if unflavored is what you want, this would be my choices. I would try one month or however it lasts, then the other, and then the other. Like I said, the ratings are pretty good, the description seems legit, but in the end, you only find what you’re looking for by trying them out.

Hope this helps.
