Jym Post Matrix and Post Workout Shake Review

For what reason do you need a pre or post workout?

Let me make it simple for you.

A preworkout should only be used when it is absolutely necessary. If you are sluggish, out of energy, you are a very active person and workout at the end of the day, maybe you need it as a boost in the morning, regardless, the main purpose is to give you a shock of immediate energy.

When choosing a preworkout, you have to be careful on what you’re taking. Don’t be fooled by the jittery itchy feelings. That just means the pre workout added niacin for the effect, stay away from it.

This is where Jym supersedes any pre and post workout.

This post though is about the Jym Post Matrix shake and the Jym Post.

Yes they are two different things.

The Jym Post Matrix is more of an amino acid provider.

Amino acids also boost metabolism helping you have more energy and fat burning capabilities. Taking them after your workout gives your body the ability to maintain lean body mass especially during periods of low calorie diets.

Jym Post is just that. A post workout shake.

It is higher in calories than the Jym Post Matrix because it’s composed of Dextrose. Dextrose is a simple sugar and the point of using dextrose is to introduce it to your body immediately after you are done working out.

When you workout, in an intense bout or manner, your body uses all of it’s glycogen stores and your muscles are ready to be replenished at the end of your workout. If you take a low glycemic carb your may miss the window where your body is ready to replenish your glycogen stores into your muscles.

Dextrose is about as high glycemic as it gets so it’s perfect to take immediately after your workout.

Now, with that said, you only take a specific amount, around 20 to 40 grams, to avoid insulin spikes and insulin resistance.
