How to use a carb cycling diet to maximize fat loss

July 25, 2015 at 5:13 pm

Alright, so in my article about setting up your nutritional plan, I tell you to keep it simple. I also go on a little rant about FAD Diets and so forth. In this article I am going to share with you a nutrition plan that I use when I need to reduce my body fat to levels that in all truth are not healthy to maintain. The cool thing about this diet plan is that you can use it once in a while whenever you hit a plateau with a balanced nutritional plan. I do not recommend that you stick to this plan for long periods of time as they can potentially lead to health problems. I am not a doctor or a nutritionist and I am only sharing with you a plan that I personally use when entering a bodybuilding contest prep. What is carb cycling? Carb cycling is […]

High Glycemic Carbs Recommendations

July 24, 2015 at 7:25 pm

As I explained previously, carbs can be categorized into two types. High Glycemic and Low Glycemic. Regardless of what you have read, when used properly, both of these carbs have their benefits. If all you’re trying to do is to live a healthy lifestyle, have no desire to lose weight, and just want sustained healthy energy, without crashes, then low glycemic carbs are the way to go. Anything that is considered “healthy”, multigrain breads & pastas, brown rice, peanuts, almonds… basically anything that is not considered simple, can be categorized as low glycemic. You can also look at a glycemic index chart and find foods that satisfy this label. Now, when it comes to working out, as per my recommendation and experience, high glycemic carbs have their purpose. For an immediate boost of energy, take high glycemic carbs about 20 to 30 minutes before your workout, and then immediately after […]

What are Hydroxycut Gummies and are they effective?

July 24, 2015 at 5:25 pm

What are Hydroxycut Gummies and do they work? When it pertains to burning fat fast, making use of fat burners can be very beneficial to specific individuals. . Hydroxycut is a fat burning supplement that aids to enhance metabolism and increases the amounts of calories you burn daily. You take a certain amount of gummies each day as directed on the label. Do you need hydroxycut? It all depends. I typically use fat burning pills and supplements seasonally as I do not like to depend upon any type of one supplement. I like to make use of various brands with different ingredients so my body doesn’t adjust to any one supplement. Would I recommend Hydroxcut gummies? Which supplements work to burn fat and lose weight?

July 22, 2015 at 8:35 pm

Pre and Post Workout Shakes: Protein Shake – Protein is essential to muscle growth and fat burn. The more muscle you build the more fat you burn. A blend of proteins is the best way to consume proteins even though Whey Protein would be my ultimate recommendation post workout. Whey protein is fast digesting which is why it’s critical pre and post workout. Medium digesting proteins and slow digesting proteins are also important to keep your body consuming proteins throughout the day. Recommended brand: dotFIT Whey Smooth / dotFIT All Natural Whey Smooth for those who do not want artificial sweetners / dotFIT Plant Protein for Vegetarians. Preworkout – A good preworkout gives you energy without the jittery feelings. A great pre-workout should come with essential ingredients such as creatine and caffeine. Creatine gives you that one extra rep in the gym essential for muscle growth while caffeine increase your body’s metabolism. Pre […]

Protein shakes and protein bars – Different types, uses, recommendations

July 20, 2015 at 7:51 pm

Protein Shakes: When it comes to protein shakes just like carbs you want two types of proteins. Fast digesting (whey) and slow digesting (Casein). The following, in preferential order, are brand that I recommend if you’re debating on which ones to use. #1 MuscleTech: Phase 8 I love this protein shake. You can order it from where right now they have a two for one special. So basically you get it for half the price or even less than any of the competitors. It carries a combination of both slow and fast digesting protein and very low in sugars. It is absolutely delicious and dissolves extremely well. I usually take it first thing before waking up and before going to bed. I also take it before and after my workouts. Being that I am only 175lbs, I usually take half servings, around 20 grams, except post workout when I […]
